Buzz Beachball has turned into and incredible festival focused on great alternative rock. Being an outdoor event every year, it takes advantage of Kansas City’s great summer weather. The atmosphere is great as well with music always being performed.

Buzz Beachball was my first festival, so it will always hold a place in my heart. This festival brings a great mix of indie and alternative groups along with acts popular in the mainstream. The two stages are always a short walk from each other, making it an easier trek to go back and forth, enjoying more acts, than many other festivals. The move from Sporting Park to Providence Amphitheater in 2017 distanced the festival from previously nearby fast food and restaurants – great places to grab a bite or escape for a bit, so the location lost point in my mind.

What a fantastic time, easily one of the most fun lineups in KC. The crowd is usually pretty cool, and having plenty of seating can be really nice. Concessions are a bit pricey, and it can a pretty dehydrating time, bring plenty of water and an umbrella for shade!!

Buzz Beach Ball is the annual music fest put on by KC’s alternative station 96.5 The Buzz. Over the years, the festival has moved around from Berkeley Riverfront to Sporting KC and now presently Providence Medical Center Amphitheater.

This was my first festival back in 2016 and I had an awesome time at a very reasonable price catching many top alternative acts. The atmosphere was great and if you have not attended a festival before I highly recommend this one.

The location can be a little hard to get to with it being 20 – 30 minutes from downtown, but otherwise there is ample parking.
